Ashley Scott

Born on July 13, 1977
Ashley McCall Scott is an American actress. She is known for her work on television and in film, including her roles in the television series Dark Angel, Birds of Prey, and Jericho.

Looking at Ashley Scott for the first time, one has to adjust their eyes. She seems too perfect, almost like a high-end store mannequin. And with her seemingly eternal smile, she always looks approachable and playful. She's a Southern belle with an edge, thanks to her two tattoos.

Ashley Scott began her career as a young girl when she began modeling. While living in Charleston, South Carolina, she entered a Millie Lewis Convention. Though she forgot her TV commercial, she was so good on recovery, that she won her division. After Millie Lewis and her sophomore year of high school, the 15 year old went to New York City to pursue her modeling career. She traveled, trying different markets and eventually became a Model for Elite Miami. She settled in Miami, was an active catalogue model, and a Giorgio Red Spokesmodel. As a young woman, she modeled internationally, and graced the runways at fashion shows in Miami, Paris and London.

She has appeared on the cover of the prestigious Hollywood Reporter and has been tracked by photographers from such publications as WWD, US Weekly and Cosmo Girl.

Ashley decided to give acting a go and one of her first auditions was with Al Pacino.

She didn't win the role, but her audition tape for the Al Pacino film landed in the offices of DreamWorks. She was then cast in another film that led to her first significant big screen credit, a few eye catching seconds as Gigolo Jane in the feature film AI: Artificial Intelligence where she shared screen time with Jude Law's Gigolo Joe.

In 2001 she also broke into TV when she was cast as Asha Barlow in the second season of FOX's hit sci-fi show Dark Angel. It was her first real acting role. Her character was an ally to cyber journalist Logan Cale (Michael Weatherly) and part of a group formed to expose government corruption. The Dark Angel people liked her enough to try to revise the formerly bookish character to fit Ashley's personality and they also quickly upgraded her from a guest star to a cast member.

In February 2002, while still featured in her recurring role on Dark Angel, the announcement came that she was cast as Helena Kyle a.k.a the Huntress in the pilot for the possible upcoming WB series about post-Batman Gotham and a trio of female crime fighters known as the Birds of Prey (a series loosely based on the DC comic of the same name). Ashley did do most of her own stunt work for the pilot episode of Birds of Prey.

She gained a few fans as Huntress in the WB's Birds of Prey in the Fall of 2002, but the show had a short run and ended mid-season. Ashley followed her work on Birds of Prey with feature films and has been in such films as S.W.A.T., Trespassing, Walking Tall, and Into the Blue.

She was originally cast in the pilot of the NBC Matt LeBlanc sitcom Joey in 2004, but she was replaced by Andrea Anders. She had a minor role in the movie Just Friends, as a nurse. From 2006 to 2008 she played Emily Sullivan in the CBS drama Jericho, during its entire two season run.

Her latest project is the movie 12 Rounds (film), which was released in theaters on March 27, 2009.

About her dyslexia

It was really difficult and frustrating back when I was really young in school. We finally figured out what it was when I was in third grade, probably like 8-years old, which was relieving, because when you are young and you have troubles like that early, people think you are stupid. Over time I had just learned little tricks. For some reason when I write in cursive, it's easier and flows better for me to read that when I print. I'll try to get a script a week early if possible so that I can get a head start. With this you just learn ways to do things that work best for your mind. I'm trying to create awareness and it's nice to be a voice for others.

Ashley Scott quotes

“Everyone checks out my mom. My mom's hot.”

"
I have my own great relationship with God. I may not be at the end of my bed praying every night, but he hears from me at least five, six, times a day. I might be hollerin' at him, but I'm still talking to him. God's got a great sense of humor."

" I loved watching The Hulk. But people asked me what my favorite comics were and I was just like "The Incredible Hulk?" He's bad ass and he scared me"

"I like pretty, but not too feminine. I don't like gaudy, I don't do lace, I don't do ruffles. I like to go rocker, sometimes, or really hippied out. I have a wide
range."

"If there`s something in your life that you want to change, change it. Quit complaining. It makes your life miserable; it makes everyone else`s life miserable around you. That`s the way I live. it makes me a happy person. "

"My mom used to say, "Don`t bring your bad mood in the house. Take your bad mood coat off and put it outside the door and come inside. If you want to put it back on when you leave, that`s fine." I used to hang my coat a lot. "

Ashley Judd

Born April 19, 1968
Ashley Judd is an American actress, well known for playing a number of strong women characters in films such as Ruby in Paradise, Kiss the Girls, Double Jeopardy and High Crimes.

Ashley Judd has the type of subdued sensuality that drives some men wild and leaves others indifferent. She left a lasting impression on us in A Time to Kill, in which she was dressed in a skimpy white dress in the Southern heat. In some of her more serious roles, however, her sexiness is hidden under a serious veneer. In any case, when Ashley decides to turn up the heat, she can have men eating out of the palm of her hand.

Judd began acting on television and appeared as Ensign Robin Lefler, a Starfleet officer, in two 1991 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "Darmok" and "The Game". From 1991 to 1994, she had a recurring role as Reed, the daughter of Alex (Swoosie Kurtz), on the NBC drama Sisters. She made her feature film debut with a very small role in 1992's Kuffs. However, in 1993 Judd fought for and was cast in her first starring role playing the title character in Victor Nuñez's Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize Winning, Ruby in Paradise. She received rave reviews playing Ruby Lee Gissing, a young woman trying to make a new life for herself, and it was this performance that would launch her career as an actress. Oliver Stone, who had seen her in Nuñez's film, cast Judd in Natural Born Killers, but her scenes were later cut from the version of the film released theatrically. But the following year she gained further critical acclaim for her role as Harvey Keitel's estranged daughter in Wayne Wang's Smoke and also as Val Kilmer's lover in Michael Mann's Heat. That same year she also played the role of Callie in Philip Ridley's dark, adult fairy tale, The Passion of Darkly Noon.

By the end of the 1990s, Judd had managed to achieve significant fame and success as a leading actress, after leading roles in several thrillers that performed well at the box office, including Kiss the Girls in 1997 and 1999's Double Jeopardy. Several of her early 2000s films, including 2001's Someone Like You and 2002's High Crimes, received only mixed reviews and moderate box office success; although, she did receive positive recognition, and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress, for her performance in the 2004 biography of Cole Porter, De-Lovely, opposite Kevin Kline.

Judd is currently the magazine advertising "face" of American Beauty, an Estée Lauder cosmetic brand sold exclusively at Kohl's department stores, and H. Stern jewelers. In June 2007, Goody's Family Clothing announced they were going to be releasing three fashion clothing lines with Judd in the Fall to be called - "AJ", "Love Ashley" and "Ashley Judd." Regarding the clothing line, Judd said, "I'm thrilled to be involved in a clothing line that provides simple, lovely solutions for women's wardrobes. I've always loved items that you can throw on easily and know that you'll feel and look good. This line does just that, while keeping with the best of current styles and trends."

When in Manhattan, Judd attends services at a charismatic missionary Baptist church.[citation needed] She also regularly attends University of Kentucky basketball games, frequently sitting next to Donna Smith (wife of former Kentucky Coach Tubby Smith), or in the student section. Last year, Judd was a guest columnist for a local Kentucky newspaper, writing about the NCAA championships. She is frequently sought out for celebrity camera shots during televised games. Judd posed for a poster wearing only a hockey jersey for fundraising purposes for their alma mater's hockey team. She is also an avid practitioner of yoga, cooking and gardening.

In February 2006, Judd entered a program at Shades of Hope Treatment Center in Buffalo Gap, Texas and stayed for 47 days. She was there because of personal issues, including depression and isolation.

Judd is active in humanitarian and political causes. She was appointed Global Ambassador for YouthAIDS, an education and prevention program of the international NGO Population Services International (PSI), promoting AIDS prevention and treatment, and speaks and demonstrates at pro-choice events. On October 29, 2006, Judd appeared at a "Women for Ford" event for Democratic Tennessee Senate candidate Harold Ford, Jr.

Political activities

In 2009, Judd appeared in a one-minute video advertisement for the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, in which Judd condemned Alaska governor Sarah Palin for supporting aerial wolf hunting. In response, Palin stated the reason these wolves are killed is to protect the caribou population in Alaska, and she called the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund an "extreme fringe group".

Ashley Judd quotes
I can't think of anything I want and need that I don't already have, but at the same time, I'm not sated."

“Those born-and-bred, feisty Kentucky girls—they are the ones you ha
ve to look out for. We have sugar and fire in our blood”

"You don`t stay married for 35 years by accident. I think that that`s willful and intentional and something that both people really want. "

"It`s so wrong to yearn so much, that you miss the joy of what you`re living. That`s definitely something I`ve learned and am willing to share. "

"Tough girls come from New York. Sweet girls, they`re from Georgia. But us Kentucky girls, we have fire and ice in our blood. We can ride horses, be a debutante, throw left hooks, and drink with the boys, all the while making sweet tea, darlin`. And if we have an opinion, you know you`re gonna hear it. "

"When I accept a role, I feel that as an artist I have to submit completely to the tutelage of my director. And while I expect to be heard and encouraged and honored, at the end of the day, man, it`s the way the director wants it. "

"Well, in the mornings when I wake up, I don`t rash into things. I write, and that comes and goes. I`m in a heavy writing phase at the moment. "

"One thing I did with my dad, which was very dramatic, was play outdoor hide-and-seek. We would play with grown-ups, and they took it so seriously. "

"I think that we give the impression, to carry on your metaphor, that we go a
little faster than we actually do. I`m fairly lazy so I`m always interested in slowing down. "

"I have a lot of variety within me, and the dream role, I think, is actually a compilation of parts that express different aspects of my persona and personal interests."

"A lot of people over the years have been doing yoga and I think even more these days are expressing an interest in it. So there are a lot of manifestations of spirituality here in town. "

Ashley Michele Greene

Born February 21, 1987
Ashley Michele Greene is an American television and film actress. She is best known for playing Alice Cullen in the 2008 film Twilight.

Greene was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Joe and Michele Greene. She grew up in Middleburg and Jacksonville, and went to University Christian School before transferring to Wolfson High School when she was in tenth grade. She moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 17 to pursue an acting career. Greene has one sibling, an older brother named Joe, who still resides in Jacksonville with her parents.

Ashley Greene is a rising young star, who will have her big break playing Alice Cullen in Twilight due out this winter 2008. Greene is a southern girl from Jacksonville, Florida, who moved to Los Angeles fresh out of high school to pursue an acting career. She broke into Hollywood with roles in popular television shows including Ashton Kutcher’s prank show Punk’d and Fox’s MADtv.

Ashley is a former model. She has done modeling work for Fenk Junk, Vision NYC, Sutra and been photographed by Carlos Armando for some campaigns. Her acting career started in 2006 when she guest starred on the television shows Crossing Jordan, playing Ann Rappaport opposite Jill Hennessy and Miguel Ferrer, and Shark, in which she was only seen in brief shots in the background - but bigger parts soon followed. Ashley got a regular gig on the soap Desire, but the series was cancelled after just one season.

Stepping into the film scene, Ashley had a bit part in 2007’s King of California. Up next for her is thriller Otis and the sci-fi drama Radio Free Albemuth, where she plays Rhonda - and, of course, the highly anticipated Twilight movie.

Based on the beloved novel, Twilight is about a teenage girl, Bella, who risks everything when she falls in love with Edward Cullen, a vampire. It will be helmed by Thirteen director Catherine Hardwicke and also stars Kristen Stewart as Bella, Robert Pattinson as Edward, Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme and Nikki Reed as Rosalie. Ashley Greene will play one of the vampires, Alice Cullen.

Alice shares many of the physical traits associated with Twilight vampires, such as inhuman beauty, pale skin, golden eyes which deepen to black depending on thirst, and deep, purple shadows under her eyes. She is described as being small, 4′10″, with petite, “pixie-like” features. Her hair is described as cropped, spiky, and black. She carries herself with the grace of a dancer when walking, and it is mentioned that with her agility she could make even a ballerina jealous.

“The auditioning process was really long for me…. a couple of months. And I don’t really know the people considered. I try not to focus on that stuff. And I knew about a month before I flew out,” Ashley says on her auditioning experience.

Certainly Twilight will open a lot of doors for this rising talent.

Ashley Greene Quotes

“I really would love to do a piece like Julia Roberts or Charlize Theron in Erin Brockovich or North Country. They were both so amazing and so inspiring. I would love to touch someone in the way they're performances touched me.”

"Jackson Rathbone is an awesome guy! Such a fun person to be around. And I think there is a bit of chemistry with everyone in the cast. We all get along great. We all hang out and goof off together"

- Ashley Greene

On her favorite Alice Cullen moment:
Favorite Alice moment? Hmm…. there are a few but a moment that always makes me smile is the whole yellow Porsche bit…. it shows a playful warm connection between Edward and Alice

On the fight training she recieved for the film “Twilight”:
The first two weeks I was in Oregon was strict training, and there was no shooting. There was a lot of baseball, because there’s a baseball scene. Then we did wire-work, and a lot of stuff to get us into the feeling of moving like a vampire. There were a couple of dance and movement classes
